Following you

I thought I was going to get lost.

Psalm 66:1-20

Reference: He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot— come, let us rejoice in him. (Psalm 66:6 NIV)

Explore: Last night I was driving with a friend through an area of town I didn’t know well. The problem was that we were in separate cars and I thought I was going to get lost.

Before leaving, my friend gave me detailed directions of where to go. I got in my car repeating all the lefts and rights to try to remember the journey’s path.

As we pulled out of the car park I realised that my friend’s car was right in front of mine. With minimal traffic around I was able to follow her the entire way.

I stopped stressing about lefts and rights and just enjoyed the drive. It was so much easier when I could follow someone who knew where they were going.

Application: I hate making tough decisions in life, but the comfort I always have is that God goes before me. When you have a strong leader in front of you then you are able to follow with confidence.

Our decisions can still seem challenging, but it’s a great reminder that God always goes before us.

When the Israelites left Egypt God divided the red sea so they could walk on dry land. If we allow God to go before us He will make a way.

Prayer: Lord, today I want to follow You. If You take the lead I will be right behind You. Amen.

Are you allowing God to lead you today?
