We have a couple of chooks at our house. My husband worked hard to build a nice big coop for them so they are safe.
They spend most of their time in there but occasionally, when we are outside for a while, we will let them wander around outside. They love to dig through our garden and rummage through the mulch.
If we want them to head back into the coop we just have to get their plastic feeding container, bang it against the coop and call out, “Come on, Girls!”. They soon come running!
They will follow you anywhere if they hear you and think you are going to feed them. So we can easily rally them back into their safe place.
I wish I was that obedient when it came to following Jesus. I do tend to wander into my own busyness but it takes more than just calling my name for me to come running back to Jesus.
And yet He provides me with the ultimate safe place. A place where I am loved and accepted no matter what.
He calls you to that place too. How quickly will you come running?
Lord, thank You for Your love, Your acceptance and Your protection. May I answer when You call. Amen.
Where is Jesus calling you to today?
