Explore: A lot of people spend their lives searching for happiness. They look for it in education, travel and career achievements.
They spend thousands of dollars searching and yearning for the unknown. A feeling… A moment.
From the people I have spoken to and articles I have read, as someone nears their deathbed they are rarely asking for a text book to read or an opportunity to make more money. Most of their desires and their regrets come down to their relationships.
Application: It is the same for us in our faith and our search for the Kingdom of God. So many people search for the ultimate spiritual moment.
A lightning bolt from Heaven. An epiphany of eternity.
Ye,t our spirituality becomes real right here on earth. The key is relationship.
The first relationship to spend our lifetime working on is with God. Prioritise it, value it and invest in it.
The second relationship is with other people. This is how we can live out the life God has called us to.
You can search the whole world for purpose only to realise it was already within your grasp.
Prayer: Lord, You are our purpose. The more we connect in with You the greater our understanding of what lies ahead. Amen.
