Doesn’t God protect me from all wrong?
Reference: The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.” (Luke 23:35 NIV)
Explore: I am generally a pretty good person. Sure, I am far from perfect, but I try my best to be Christlike everyday.
There are some days that are better than others. When things are going my way, it’s easier to be positive.
However, when things get out of my control I find it hard to show those important fruits of the Spirit.
It is in these particularly bad days that I may even question why these challenges arise. Doesn’t God protect me from all wrong?
Application: It’s on these days that I seem to forget the crucifixion part of the gospel. Jesus, who is far better than I will ever be, suffered a great deal.
Why should my life be any different?
To be Christlike is to reach out to those who are lost, stand up for those who are voiceless and love those who seem unlovable. These actions don’t make you popular. Just ask Jesus!
So when the next trial comes don’t question your faith. It may be that this challenge is the outcome of you actually being like Christ.
Prayer: Lord, align my heart with Yours, even if that means it gets broken along the way. Amen.
What is Christlike about your life?
