Every. Single. Day.

Every time he got in his car he would hold hands with all the passengers and say a prayer

Joshua 5:1-15

Reference: “The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate the produce of Canaan.” ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭5:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: When I was staying overseas in the Philippines I met an amazing pastor. He lived and breathed his faith in everything he did.

Every time he got in his car he would hold hands with all the passengers and say a prayer, asking God to keep them safe. At the end of the car ride he would proclaim, Thank You Lord.

This moment didn’t take long but it was a great reminder that each day we have the opportunity to put ourselves in God’s hands. And every day we have something to be thankful for.

Application: After forty years wandering in the desert, God allowed Joshua to lead His people to the promised land. The day after they arrived, and had been provided for by the produce of the land, the manna stopped coming.

This statement took me by surprise. Throughout this entire time, God had been faithful to His people.

Scripture doesn’t mention the manna provided by God in every chapter, but this final statement shows it was there for the people every single day.

What a great reminder of God’s faithfulness to His people. He knows our needs, and what resources we have access to, and He makes up the difference.

May we never forget that our God is our Provider. Never stop thanking Him for all He has given to you… Every day!

Prayer: Jehovah Jireh, You are our Provider. We praise You for knowing our needs and going out of Your way to supply for us. Amen.

What provision has God given to you?
