Dealing With Our Limitations

The limitations of this world are not the end for us

1 Kings 17:1-24

Reference: “Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.” ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭17:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: A friend of mine has just finished ministering at a local church. For almost fifteen years he committed his life to the people of his congregation and community.

Unfortunately, due to conflict with the board, my friend has left the church earlier than he planned. Even though he feels God had a specific plan for his life, other people’s pride and disagreement has taken him on a different path.

Application: God can bring amazing transformation to our lives but there are times when we endure the brokenness of this world.

Elijah was such an obedient prophet, going where God instructed and saying what God told him to say. And yet the world’s limitations still impacted him.

There was no rain therefore he had nothing to drink. There was no flour therefore he had nothing to eat.

The great thing about our God is that the limitations of this world are not the end for us. God opens doors and provides opportunities for us to experience Him even when all we see is a dead end.

When a door closes, even when it feels like it’s been slammed in our face, don’t give up hope. Look to God and He will open an opportunity that even you didn’t see coming.

Prayer: Lord, there are times when the world seems to squash our Godly opportunities. May we never forget how powerful You are. You are never confined to the limitations of our world. Amen.

What limitations are you having to deal with?
