David Attenborough

When you listen to his documentaries you are always amazed by how much he knows about every single living creature on our planet.

Job 39:1-30

Reference: v. 27 Does the eagle soar at your command and build its nest on high? (TNIV Bible)

Explore:  My mother received some David Attenborough DVDs for Christmas last year. Sir David Attenborough is Britain's best-known natural history film-maker. His career as a naturalist and broadcaster has spanned nearly five decades and there are very few places on the globe that he has not visited. When you listen to his documentaries you are always amazed by how much he knows about every single living creature on our planet.  He is clearly an expert.
Whenever I hear an expert in a particular field I am blown away at the depth of their knowledge about a specific area.  There is so much to know, even just in one field, and yet I would think that even David Attenborough would be able to learn something new about nature as he continues to explore.

Application:  We can become very skilled in one particular area but we will never know everything about everything!  When I think of all the things David Attenborough does know I can think of things in my life that he would not know about.  And yet when we think of all the things that God knows, He knows it ALL!  There is nothing that could surprise him, nothing that he would need to research further.  All the information we could find on Google would be like a blade of grass in the forest compared to the knowledge that God has.  May we not underestimate God's power and knowledge and may it give us confidence when we put our trust in Him.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for knowing everything about us and yet still loving us.  Amen.

What is your field of expertise? What is an area you lack knowledge in?
