Don’t the Christmas decorations go up early these days? It feels like it’s not long after the end of financial year sales in June have ended and the tinsel and fairy lights are out in the stores.
I know a lot of my friends on social media were disgusted by this. They couldn’t believe that stores were trying to cash in on Christmas.
Now, I do agree we need to watch out for the commercial side of Christmas, but to be honest, as far as Christmas decorations go, they can’t go up early enough for my liking!
Christmas is one of the two most important times in our year. It’s when God sent his Son to earth as a tiny baby, and the world has never been the same since. I think that’s worth celebrating – not just in December but the whole year round.
When I see Christmas decorations I’m reminded of this amazing gift that God has given to each and every one of us. Bring out the tinsel, I’m ready to celebrate.
