Change The World

I’m usually fairly quick to answer questions in an interview type setting, but I took a moment to think seriously about this possibility.

Mark 12:13-34

Reference: The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:31 TNIV Bible)

Explore: I was recently being interviewed regarding my job, and while the interviewers asked some specific questions, they also threw in a curly one.

“If you could change anything at all in the world, what would it be?”

I’m usually fairly quick to answer questions in an interview type setting, but I took a moment to think seriously about this possibility. I answered with one word:

“Love.”

When asked to explain further I pointed out that with more love in the world there would be less war, more forgiveness and everyone would feel more appreciated. If that was the case, our world would be a better place.

Application: When Jesus walked this earth He was asked many tricky questions. He answered them with wisdom and knowledge.

The answer that has had the biggest impact on my life is when He spoke of the two most important commandments. If we were to live according to Jesus’ answer then our lives would be transformed.

To love God and love others would make our world a different place. Now all we have to do is start to put it into practice.

Prayer: Lord, You are the God of all knowledge and wisdom. May we live our lives in such a way that people will understand Your ways more. Amen.

If you could change anything at all in the world, what would it be?
