We may give up and lose all hope but wherever there is God, there is hope.
Acts 10.32-43
Reference: v.38 Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, "Please come at once!" (NIV Bible)
Explore: When does one give up? When do you call it quits? I think everyone has a different level. Some people will just keep going on things until they are 'flogging a dead horse', where others give up too easily.
Peter was called by some disciples to Joppa where Tabitha, one of their fellow disciples, had become sick and died. I wonder what they were expecting of Peter. Were they wanting comfort? Were they wanting one of Jesus' original disciples to acknowledge the great life this fellow disciple had led? Or were they fully believing that Peter, through the power of prayer, could bring Tabitha back to life?
Application: We are reminded again that nothing is impossible with God. We may give up and lose all hope but wherever there is God, there is hope. No matter what the situation, we can find hope in our Lord and Saviour.
Prayer: Lord, thank you that you are always there for us. No matter what the situation You are always beside us. Help us to have enough faith to trust that You have all things in Your hands. Amen.
