Answer The Phone

We’re both friendly, sociable people, we’re just not a fan of chatting on the phone.

Psalm 120:1-7

Explore: I’m really not a fan of chatting on the phone. I know this goes against the stereotype of my gender, but I’d much rather send a text message than hold a whole conversation.

I thought I was the only female who was like this, but I have discovered one of my friends is exactly the same. In fact, she’s even worse than I am.

If my phone rings I will answer it, unless I’m in the middle of something important or urgent. However, my mate hates chatting on the phone so much that she will allow the call to go through to voicemail and respond after hearing the message.

We’re both friendly, sociable people, we’re just not a fan of chatting on the phone.

Application: I’m glad that God doesn’t answer prayers like my friend and I answer phones. He doesn’t look at who is “dialling in” and consider letting it go through to voicemail!

No, God is always attentive to our prayers, no matter what the reason for our “call” may be.

I was recently stressing over some very minor issues in my life and every time I stopped and prayed, I felt God’s peace come over me. Even though my stress showed a lack of faith and a focus on insignificant problems, God still answered my prayers.

No matter what our needs or how often we pray, God is always there for us.

Prayer: Lord, how fortunate we are to worship a God who loves us SO much that He is always there for us. May we always come to You with our prayers and petitions and grow in our faith as You answer our call. Amen.
