A Lot To Catch Up On

As they got chatting they realised how long it had been since they’d last touched base.

Psalm 66:1-20

Explore: My husband recently bumped into an old friend we used to go to church with. We both attend different churches now and they hadn’t seen each other in quite a few years.

As they got chatting they realised how long it had been since they’d last touched base. Our friend had not heard that we had surprisingly fallen pregnant last year, he hadn’t known about our foster daughter having a baby four years ago and he didn’t know about the house we bought five years ago.

It ended up being quite the catch up. Because our lives had taken different paths we hadn’t kept up with each other’s story.

They had made the decision not to engage with social media where we had posted all our significant news. So it seems that people who didn’t know us as well knew more about our lives than they did.

Social media certainly has its quirks, and it’s not for everyone, but in this instance it has helped us communicate with people we don’t see very often.

Application: I’m not always good at keeping up with friends. Scrolling through social media is often a good way for me to get up to date with friends and family.

But one thing we are called to be good at is spreading the word about God. In all we do, whether it’s online or in real life, we can share God’s love and His message of acceptance with everyone we meet.

The Psalmist was keen to share all he had experienced of God. Our story can speak of God too.

Let’s openly share about what God has done in our lives so others may know of His goodness and love.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for all You have done in my life. May I not shy away from sharing Your effect in my life. Amen.

How can you share your faith story with others?
