She couldn’t hold herself back from some tempting addictions.

Explore: A friend of mine recently revealed she was living a double life. While she loved her family very much she couldn’t hold herself back from some tempting addictions.
While her friends and family were devastated at this discovery what grieved them the most was her lack of desire to change. She had become comfortable in her double life and was too attached to her addiction that she wasn’t willing to give it up.
Application: It’s hard to live a life of absolute integrity, but there are times when our actions are way out of sync with what we say we believe. You may not be living a double life, but there are times when we accept the unconditional love of Jesus, but then we’re quick to judge someone else.
The prophet Amos wanted God’s people to realise they couldn’t just perform the religious acts of God and then go off and do whatever else they liked. Our faith is not just about our performance on a Sunday, but it’s about how we live our whole life.
This is a great reminder for all of us. When Monday comes around we can easily get into the routine of our non-church lives. But in all we do, God is calling us to a life of love and integrity.
Prayer: Lord, you are consistent in all You do. Help me to show Your character wherever I am. Amen.
Where do you find it difficult to act our your faith?
