Unless I put the words into action, I am just stringing letters together.
Reference: v.18 Open my eyes that I may see
wonderful things in your law. (TNIV Bible)
Explore: This will be my 1405th post. That means that I have read 1405 Bible passages and written 1405 stories connecting to the words I have read from Scripture.
My readers are often surprised that I can keep coming up with every day stories that connect with the passages from the Bible. However, there is so much wisdom and valuable content in each chapter that it just seems to write itself.
As I continue to commit to the discipline of reading and writing my REAP blog, I am constantly amazed at the things I can learn about God every single day.
Application: It is good to read and learn, but it does not stop there. Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the whole Bible and its content is crucial for our faith journey.
It reinforces over and over again the importance of the Word of God. And not just to read it, but to APPLY it to our lives.
I can feel good about writing 1405 posts, but unless I put the words into action, I am just stringing letters together. If I’m committed to living out the words then they become truth and nothing can stop the power behind the actions that we do in God’s name.
Prayer: Lord God, Your word truly is a lamp to our feet and a light for our path (v105). May we commit to reading Your word and living it out every day. Amen.
What is your favourite passage of scripture? How do you live out God’s instruction that it teaches?
