I’m currently on a countdown of when she is to return.
Reference: “The Lord said to Moses, “I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear me speaking with you and will always put their trust in you.” Then Moses told the Lord what the people had said.” Exodus 19:9 NIV
Explore: I have a sister who lives overseas. We have always been very close but there have now been numerous times when she has lived in another country.
I’m very proud of the decisions my sister has made but it does make me miss her and wish she was closer.
I’m currently on a countdown of when she is to return. Nine weeks today she will be back on our shores. She will only be home for a few weeks, but I excitedly await her arrival.
Application: In Exodus 19 we hear of the Israelites waiting for the Lord to meet with them. They started to prepare themselves for His arrival.
I can’t imagine how excited they would be knowing they were meeting with the God who had rescued them. Fortunately, they didn’t have to wait nine weeks, only a couple of days.
Skip forward a few thousand years and we don’t have to wait or even prepare ourselves in a certain way to meet with God. We can meet with Him anytime and anywhere.
We have the opportunity to daily commune with the Creator of the universe, but so often we let the opportunity pass us by.
God is right here, willing and wanting to connect with you. Take the time to reach out to Him.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your loving presence. Thank You for Your availability to meet with us at all times. May we never take You for granted. Amen.
How can you commune with God today?
