Who Is Your Favourite?

My husband will just chuckle and say he knows they have one

Explore: My controversial husband likes to ask parents this terrible question: “Which child is your favourite?!”

Of course, most parents will be quick to defend their position and state categorically they don’t have a favourite child. But my husband will just chuckle and say he knows they have one.

He’ll then start guessing, listing off their children like he knows they have favourites. Most parents are incredibly uncomfortable even entertaining the idea that they would rather one child over the other.

Application: Thankfully, like most of the good parents we know, God does not have favourites either. If my husband was to push God on the matter, He also wouldn’t be able to answer.

When God spoke to His people through Joel, He explained that in time His spirit would be poured out on all people, even those society didn’t respect.

God’s opinion of us is not determined by how the world views us. He loves us and cherishes us by how He made us to be.

Don’t feel like others are better than you or are loved more than you. God sees your potential and desires the best for you.

Prayer: Lord, You have created us all uniquely, and for good reason. May we live up to the value You see in us, not the value the world places on us. Amen.

What is your worth in God?
