Red Frogs

A friend of mine is currently volunteering on a team of Red Frogs.

At the end of the final year of high school it is common practice for a whole group of school leavers to converge on certain holiday destinations. It is known to be one huge party. As an act of freedom from the confines of school work, these teenagers typically drink to excess, stay out all night and party hard.

This week long party is much anticipated by the teenagers however many are left feeling unwell from hangovers and even put themselves in dangerous situations.

A group of Christians created the mission idea of Red Frogs. Willing helpers will commit to spending time out on the street and around the party areas to make sure people are safe and cared for.

This is such an incredible act of grace. Already my friend has sent me a message saying that she’s cleaned up vomit and seen a drug overdose. These teenagers are choosing these unwise behaviours and yet Christians are still wanting to show them love and make sure they are safe. That’s an act of God right there.

It’s a good reminder of how God treats us too. We are foolish and make poor decisions and yet God still loves us, cares for us and wants what is best for us. We don’t deserve it but He gives it freely anyway.

Whatever you have done, God still loves you and wants you to be safe and fulfilled.

Lord, thank you for Your unconditional love. May it inspire us to strive to live more like You today. Amen.

When has God shown you grace?
