I was amazed that a character in a show could impact culture in such a huge way.

Explore: My friend has recently started watching Korean dramas. And by watching I mean she spends every spare waking hour binge watching these shows.
We went out for lunch the other day and she introduced me to a Korean fried chicken shop. They basically sold just two things: fried chicken and beer.
I was surprised that a chain store selling so few items was doing so well. But my friend explained it was all to do with this Korean drama.
One of the characters is similar to Kim Kardashian. She became famous when she was young and now whenever she gets upset she goes and eats fried chicken and beer.
The show, and this character, have become so popular in Asia that restaurants are now focusing on selling fried chicken and beer so normal people can be just like her.
I was intrigued at the story but more so amazed that a character in a show could impact culture in such a huge way.
Application: Influencers can come from all kinds of places. Whether it’s a character in a drama show, an Internet sensation or a sports star, there are always people who show us a certain way to live.
It’s always up to us, however, to decide who we will take the lead from.
Jesus showed a life that was remarkable and impressionable. And many people followed and observed Him.
But there were fewer people who actually allowed Jesus to influence them to such a degree that they changed their lives to be more like Him. But that’s what it means to be a true follower.
If you are wondering who is influencing you, start to observe how you act. It is your actions and words that will show you who you are following and who you are allowing to have influence in your life.
Prayer: Lord, for us to lead the best life we must follow You. You are willing to be a positive influence in our lives, we just need to open ourselves up to You. Amen.
Who is having an influence on your life?
