A friend has generously loaned us her holiday house for a couple of weeks over summer. Although, with young children, a holiday looks very different these days, it’s still nice to get away from home and all the daily chores.
It always amazes me how simple life can be when you go on holidays. We only have a small amount of clothes, a small amount of toys but lots of time.
I know that when we’re home we have to deal with the realities of work, education and responsibilities, but it’s nice to be reminded that we can turn off every now and again and still survive!
Turning our brains off can be the hardest part. We still carry with us the troubles of our work or the challenges of home life. But we all need time to refresh and replenish.
Life is great when it’s full but make the most of the space when you’re given the opportunity to revive.
Lord, whether we are crazy busy or chilling on holiday, You are always there for us. May we make time in the everyday rush to focus on you. Amen.
Where are you finding space to revive today?
