Gold, Silver and Bronze

The competition is at its highest.

Exodus 31:1-18

Reference: “to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,” Exodus‬ ‭31:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: Every four years a country will host the Olympic and para Olympic Games. Living in Australia we even have the Commonwealth Games on the alternative four years.

These events highlight sporting excellence. The training the participants have to endure is extreme as the competition is at its highest.

To come in the top three of any category is a huge achievement. And we acknowledge the best of the best by presenting medals of gold, silver and bronze.

Application: It’s no surprise the instructions to build and design the places and articles of worship included these three elements. When it comes to God we should only give of our best.

God gave us His best when He sent Jesus to us, to show us how to live and love. What do we give God in return?

Giving God our best isn’t a payment but an act of worship. It’s a way of showing God the place He has in our lives.

We give with our time, money, attitude, commitment and service to others. There are no bounds to how we can live to honour God with our best. It declares our worship and covenant with the One who gave us His best.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for showing us how to be our best. May we live to our capacity so people know we are living for You. Amen.

How can you give God your best today?
