Building Something Glorious

By the end what they imagined has become reality.

Exodus 39:1-43

Reference: “Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the Lord had commanded. So Moses blessed them.” Exodus‬ ‭39:43‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: My husband has discovered a TV show that follows the construction journey of unusual homes.

At the beginning of the show you meet the couple wanting to build and hear their outlandish ideas. Then follows what seems like a whole episode of challenges and catastrophes.

They struggle with finding the right materials, the weather delays progress and they always go over budget. But at the end you see their dream come to life.

While I may not have understood their design to begin with, by the end what they imagined has become reality. And the owners are absolutely delighted (besides blowing their budget!).

Application: It’s always nice to see the finished product of something that has been planned for some time. I wonder whether that’s how God felt when He saw all the elements of worship He had instructed Moses to make.

Through God’s instructions skilled people had built all the items they needed to worship and honour God. Exodus 39 doesn’t speak of the challenges they had to face, but I’m sure they found some, like any type of construction does.

Through following instruction and diligent work, God’s people created something glorious.

We can create glorious things, too, if we follow God’s instructions. We may not think we are creative in an artistic way, but we can choose what our lives will look like.

The more we structure our lives around who God is and how He would have us live, the more glorious we will become.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for creating us in such a way that we can add to Your imagination to build and construct. May our lives be a working model to bring Your glory to the world. Amen.

What are you currently working on constructing in your life at the moment?
