A Lifetime Supply

I recently saw a radio show post this message:

Congrats! You’ve just won a lifetime supply of the last thing you bought…
What do you now have forever?

When I thought about it I realised it was some baby paracetamol and $70 cash out. Having a lifetime supply of baby paracetamol might be good for the next couple of years, but certainly not necessary forever.

I don’t know if the $70 cash out counts. If it does, that would be awesome. Who doesn’t want more cash?!

It was funny that even though this was an imaginary game I found myself very invested in it. I thought how cool it would have been if the last thing I bought was all my groceries or petrol for the car. Or a holiday!! So many opportunities lost… and yet it was still a made up game!

It’s easy to get caught up in getting something for free. We think our lives would be so much easier if one of our financial needs was taken care of.

And yet you have a lifetime supply of something much more important…

Love. Forgiveness. Grace. Mercy. Acceptance.

God has enough of these things to cover you for a lifetime. In fact, He has enough to cover you for eternity. While some more money might be nice, it’s these things that can really have an impact on your life.

Never forget that God really does provide us with all we need.

Lord, help me to appreciate everything You have done for me. It is Your love, grace, forgiveness and acceptance that I need the most. Amen.

What would you like a lifetime supply of?
