Explore: Five years ago my husband and I went on a cruise to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time, saw some great sights and met some good people.
One of the things that excited us the most was the buffet. It was open 24/7 and had the most incredible food.
No matter what you wanted at whatever time, you could probably find it on the buffet. And we did!
When we got back home it was a rude shock to my system to have to cook again! I had been so used to having everything provided for me. Suddenly I was back to reality and had to think of meal ideas, go grocery shopping and cook every night.
Application: In Psalm 50 it talks about God having access to everything. It’s like he has a cruise buffet every moment of every day.
It reminded me that God could take whatever He wanted but He doesn’t. He set everything up into place and He allows it to move through its seasons and processes.
Let’s just say it’s just as well I’m not God, as I would not be as restrained as He is.
As God’s people we have access to this incredible Creator. Instead of feeling we need to horde all we have, may we be as generous as God is with all He created.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for generously sharing all You have made with us. May we, in turn, share what we have with You and others. Amen.
What can you give back to God this week?
